Name: Concept design for a mixed-use development
Location: Łódź, ul. Piotrkowska 154
Design Team: Maciej Taczalski, Karolina Taczalska, Mateusz Cyganek
Visualisations: We’re Architects
The design aims at creating a 32-storey, 110 m high building in one of the most prestigious locations in the city, at the intersection of Piotrkowska Street and Piłsudskiego Avenue. The object housing both a hotel and residential facilities will become the tallest building in Łódź.
The body of the building is composed of two solids. The lower part spreads across most of the site, with its height aligned with the height of the frontage. The second one is slimmer and overhangs the first one ever so slightly. The body is dynamized through geometrical indentations and an outdoor terrace at the uppermost part of the building.
The lower part of the building houses a five-star hotel with its main entrance located in the corner of the building. Inside there are 80 luxurious apartments, two restaurants, a conference centre, a gym as well as a Spa. At the height of the neighbouring tenement house a distinctive break has been designed. Created by that was a space in a form of a green rooftop terrace accessible to the public through the hotel restaurant. Above, there are 17 residential storeys with a total of 72 apartments and 4 technical storeys. On the +27 level, a panoramic sky bar with an external terrace has been designed, with a view spreading around the whole city centre. Parking spots for the users of the facility are provided on the underground levels.
