The design principle of the proposal was to create a distinctive building that fits into the scale of Piotrkowska street, organizes the surroundings and creates a new point of reference within the urban space. It is located in one of the most prestigious spots in Łódź, at the intersection of Piotrkowska Street and Piłsudskiego Avenue.
The eight-storey high hotel makes the most of the small site’s limited investment potential. The main entrance to the building is located on the side of Piłsudskiego Avenue. It leads to glass cladded lobby and restaurant zone. The hotel features 81 luxurious apartments connected by an internal atrium lit by a grand skylight. The uppermost, retracted floor features spacious terraces as well as number of services including conference centre, gym, spa and a sky bar with magnificent view of Piotrkowska Street.
Due to the unique characteristics of the site, the building envelope follows soft lines, sculptural in their form accompanied by a green façade system. The dynamism of the shape is accentuated by vertical, irregular divisions on the elevation and rounded off corners, inviting to enter Piotrkowska Street. The designed facility acts as a counterbalance to the surroundings lacking in vegetation and fits in with ecological trends.
