Design Lab Group was established in 2010. The studio's founders and main designers are Karolina and Maciek Taczalscy.

Our team consists of architects with experience in various fields of design from revitalisation, through urban planning and public building design to residential architecture including exclusive single family houses. 

We also specialize in subjects related to the conservation and restoration of monuments.

From the very beginning, we have been strongly connected to Łódź. We actively participate in the process of revitalizing the city, carrying out projects for buildings of various functions, ranging from post-industrial architecture, being the heritage of Łódź, through tenement houses, and ending with villas and factory owners' palaces.

We carry out projects in both private and public sector – as part of cooperation on behalf of the General Contractors in the Design-Build project delivery system, tenders for design work and private investors’ orders.

We are a part of Polish Cluster of Construction Exporters, therefore we carry out projects abroad, working with major Polish construction companies.

We offer comprehensive support in conducting the investment process, including:

• Analysis of formal and legal conditions of investment areas,
• Analysis of the area’s development capacity with buildings’ concept design,
• Program and spatial concepts as well as functional and utility programmes,
• Conducting architectural inventories (including buildings under conservation protection),
• Multidisciplinary construction projects,
• Executive designs with cost estimates,
• Tender projects,
• Architectural and conservation projects for objects under conservation protection,
• Demolition projects,
• Conducting administrative proceedings aimed at obtaining developmental approvals, environmental decisions, building permits, demolition permits, conservation decisions etc.,
• Projects’ supervision,
• Overseeing the application process for subsidies for construction works.

Currently we're recruiting for the following positions:

Lead Architect. Requirements:

• At least 4 years of proven professional experience
• Prior experience as a Lead Architect – at least one full project.
• Strong knowledge of technical and construction regulations
• Unlimited building licence in speciality of architecture.
• Strong AutoCAD and SketchUp skills
• Revit skills are a strong asset.
• Experience in designing multi-family residential complexes is an asset.
• Good spoken and written communication skills in English.
• Creativity in designing.
• Ability to lead a design team and make decisions.
• High work ethic and culture.

Junior Architect. Requirements:

• MSc in Architecture or Equivalent
• At least 2 years of proven professional experience.
• Prior experience in participating in a full design process – at least one project.
• Knowledge of at least: Technical and Construction Regulations and fire safety regulations
• Strong AutoCAD and SketchUp skills
• Revit skills are a strong asset.
• Experience in designing multi-family residential complexes is an asset.
• Good spoken and written communication skills in English.
• Creativity in designing.
• Ability to work independently and ability to make decisions.
• High work ethic and culture.

We offer the opportunity to develop design skills alongside experienced architects, active participation in the entire design process - from concept to projects’ supervision. You will have an opportunity to work both on the designing new buildings (housing and public utility buildings),  working on conservation issues, related to the revitalization of cities (including the Area Revitalization of Łódź), as well as creating projects in Sweden as part of the Polish Cluster of Construction Exporters.
